DRONE MANEUVERs

Drone Maneuvers are a competitive event designed to push warfighters’ small UAS skills to the limit. Hosted on military bases or organized through USNDA, the event builds a standardized drone track where participants can test their ability to fly, maneuver, and compete head-to-head under controlled conditions. By combining precision flying with tactical decision-making, DRONE MANEUVER provides both a training opportunity and a competitive benchmark, enabling warfighters to measure their proficiency against their peers while sharpening mission-ready skills.

Occurring during the USNDA25 conference, DoD service members and reserves are welcome to participate as teams or individuals in this Drone Maneuver. Participants will fly provided drones through a set course. If you are interested in hosting a Drone Maneuver, please reach out through the contact page.

PURPOSE

The Down Select Process determines which pilots will advance to the live Trench Run Maneuver Competition at Full Sail University. It ensures competitors demonstrate baseline proficiency, situational control, and tactical flight accuracy in a simulated environment prior to on-site qualification.

Requirements (to participate in Down Select)

• Active Velocidrone account

• Ownership of the Micro Pack DLC (required for the USNDA Down Select track)

• Registration completed via the USNDA official website

• Functional FPV simulator setup (radio controller compatible with Velocidrone)

 

Registration Process

1. Visit the USNDA Maneuver Competition registration portal and complete the Down Select registration form.

2. Upon approval, competitors will receive an official USNDA email containing:

• A unique Velocidrone activation code

• Code activation instructions

• Submission deadline and scoring window

3. Once the activation code is redeemed, competitors gain access to the official Trench Run Down Select Track in Velocidrone.​​
